There are thousands of germs in the average mouth and these germs are not all beneficial to your health. Some can cause bad breath, tooth decay and colds. To keep these negative things out of your mouth:
1. Floss at least once a day!
Bacteria forms between teeth and the only way to get rid of it is to floss. This bacteria if not removed can lead to bad breath, tooth decay and yellowing of the teeth. Flossing also helps to stop gum disease - gigivitis. Gigivitis has been linked to heart disease. Healthy gums are pink and tight against the teeth.
2. Brush at least twice a day!
But don't brush too hard - brushing with a hard toothbrush and abrasive toothpaste could possible wear on the enamel.
3. Scrape your tongue!
There are about 300 different kinds of bacteria on the tongue and you can thank them for the bad breath you may experience.
4. Rinse with Mouthwash!
Look for a alcohol-free mouth wash with flourides and odor-neutralizing chlorides.
5. Chew sugarless gum!
If you can't brush after every meal chewing sugarless gum will help by increase the flow of saliva, which will wash away a lot of bacteria.
